Arlie Patten from Blackbird says from his
Hollywood house in California that he thinks
this is “a great idea that will give us some
marketing and publicity to our fans.” The
humble superstar then says “thank you for
choosing us” and “it is a huge compliment
and privilege to me and the band.” “I really
can't say thanks enough!” One month after
the release of their debut
new studio album, "SONGS FOR THE BROKEN
HEARTED," Blackbird will headline the early
century theatre that had been converted to
this incredible rock club, seats 400, and
audiences around the world will be able to
watch the show live from their home or at
other bars and clubs around the world.
“This event is very special
for me because it takes the live downloads
concept to another level,” says Don
Lichterman, the head of Sunset Records and
Sunset Live Entertainment. “First off, I
grew up on live music,” Lichterman
continues, “whether it was recording live
shows off FM radio and seeing music live,
that is how I started to love music as a
kid.” Lichterman also says that adding live
simulcast to the Sunset Live download
company adds value to live downloads in the
same way DVDs are added value for consumers
compared to CDs. “It’s that same mentality I
have today with David Gans and CD Pulse that
I had with DVDs when I started Sunset.” He
says, “You cannot sell a CD for more than
ten dollars at retail today where as a DVD
can sell for fifteen, twenty or twenty five
bucks” and “it basically costs the same to
manufacturer lines of DVDs as it does to
make CDs.”
It is that added value that
attracted Lichterman to his latest deal with
his Sunset Live Entertainment Company and CD
Pulse. Sunset recording artist Blackbird's
eagerly anticipated debut album, "SONGS FOR
THE BROKEN HEARTED," is available
exclusively at Target and inline at Amazon
today. The album will then be made available
at
Circuit City, Virgin
Megastores, Barnes & Noble and thousands of
independent stores, and then will also be
available this month leading online
retailers including but not limited to
Barnes&Noble.com, TowerRecords.com,
BestBuy.com, CircuitCity.com, Borders.com,

Blackbird's debut album was
recorded in Fresno, California last year and
includes 10 brand new songs with
“Unstoppable” being added to radio as the
first single for the label. Tickets for the
show at The Broadway Studios are expected to
sell out that evening. The band will play
live throughout the summer months in
California.
Kan’Nal To
Premiere "Live At The Boulder Theater" on
Amazon’s Unbox beginning Tuesday, May 20th;
also to be made available On-Demand.
One critic described Kan’Nal's “Live at The
Boulder Theater concert, as "a near-perfect
gig, where magic was in the air and so were
the musical surprises'." Now Kan’Nal fans,
who may have missed the band touring back in
2006, can have the chance to share in that
magic with the video download release of
“Live At The Boulder Theater," a DVD with a
performance of Kan’Nal’s highly acclaimed
Boulder Theater show. “This is the best way
for us to share this band with everyone
around the world,” says Don Lichterman, the
founder and head of Sunset Records and
Sunset Home Visual Entertainment (SHE).
“They are a very visual band” Lichterman
continues, “and we will feature them not
only at Amazon’s Unbox, but also via their
On-Demand service.”
Kan’Nal’s concert features members Tzol on
guitar, Tierro on lead guitar, Rodolfo Escobar III on bass, Aaron Jerad on
Percussion, Gilly Gonzalez on drums and Teresita and Akayate rounding out
the band. Live At The Boulder Theater will be released exclusively as an
Amazon Unbox Video Download. The live performance by Kan’Nal also has Earth
Day Performance dancers on two songs. The Live At The Boulder Video includes
Kan’Nal’s critically-acclaimed concert that features the #1 Italia Gold
chart-topping song, "Gypsy" as well as Kan’Nal’s Earth Dance Performances on
the classic song. The rave-reviewed Boulder concert also has performances of
Spacechild, Venado, Woman Who Sees, Dragonfly and Dreamwalker. Kan’Nal also
performed an astounding version of Animal Angel, the first single on the
brand new “Myth Magic” CD due to hits stores this summer.
“The band is just finishing up in the studio and the new CD should be ready

a memorable live performance by Starr
Cullars is now being released worldwide on

One could
argue that Starr Cullars is more or less one
of the main players on the strip nowadays
whom can be described simply by using the
words "guitar" and "rock." The home video
shows an enthusiastic group of musicians
playing in a legendary Sunset Strip rock and
roll club. Most astonishing is the blues
rock sound that is an accessible sound, yet
is also some of the more difficult music to
play on a six-string guitar. Starr has great
harmonics with melodies played using
distortion, making up the straight forward
Funk Rock sound with out of this world lead
progressions. When you see the live DVD, you
see a band that can change your mood within
a few minutes of watching the Home Video.
She's never
been fully won over by the simulated
atmosphere of the recording studio (though
she has a new studio CD due in stores in
June), and so she has great fun on stage.
"I'm very pleased to say that the Live at
the B.B. King Blues Club & Grill DVD was a
lot of fun to make last year," says Starr
Cullars from Los Angeles. Cullars goes on to
say that she is "so thankful to Angel Alamo

This DVD showcases a great night of music
from the Starr Cullars Band, the same band
that recorded Living Galaxy, the brand new

currently popular today. The funk" sound of

Records presents Sunset Urban Showcase World
Premiere Concert Party at legendary spot,
The White Gate in Brooklyn on Sunday, April
6, 2008.
The Sunset Urban Records
showcase will feature performances by many
of the emerging Sunset Urban acts with a
special preview of the new D’Cyple, For My
People CD. The show will be hosted by one of
the most promising hip-hop stars, KNOWLEDGE.
“Urban music is one of the most amazing
success stories in the music industry,” said
Don Lichterman, the founder and head of
Sunset Urban Records, “I cannot wait to see
our artists perform for us in a live
setting.”
Doors will open at 7PM and
the live show will start at 9PM followed by
the after party.
The White Gate is located
at 1222 Putnam Avenue (Between Evergreen &
Central) in Brooklyn, New York.

Bullock set up the showcase to expose his
new unique signings at the new upstart
record label - such as Paula Perry, Captain
Crunk, Blackwell, Kingsbridge Dee, Rican
Rebelz, Lil Dynomite and B.L.O. will round
off the showcase to Sunset Urban fans and
industry people. Captain Crunks Hell Of A
Drug CD will be in stores on May 20th,
Blackwell’s Heartbreak CD will be in stores
on June 3rd and then Paula Perry’s Godmommy
CD will be in stores on June 17th. Expect
new CDs by B.L.O., Kingsbridge Dee, Rican
Rebelz and Lil Dynomite by the end of the
year.
“This is a the most
exciting time for Bomb Baby Productions as
we continue to evolve and take important
steps towards supporting indie acts” said
Ronald C. Bullock, the Head of A&R at Sunset
Urban. Bullock will also preview the
D’Cyple, For My People CD throughout the
